How Steph took her first fitness steps at CrossFit Kenosha

When Steph joined CrossFit Kenosha in September, she wasn’t convinced it would work.

Like many people who are older and had never worked out consistently, she assumed CrossFit might simply be too much.

“I figured this would be a no go for me.”

She was wrong.

Built for Real People. Real Life. Real Challenges.

Steph began with two weeks of one-on-one coaching, learning proper movement, safe scaling options, and how to train in a way that respected their bodies.

That foundation mattered—especially for Stephanie.

She’s a stroke survivor with limited use of her right arm.

And yet… she shows up.
She scales appropriately.
She gets the work done.

Every. Single. Time.

Hard Work. Real Results.

Once they transitioned into group classes, the workouts were tough.

But Stephanie didn’t quit.

Fast forward to now:

  • 50 pounds lost
  • Inches gone
  • Improved mobility
  • Less joint pain
  • More confidence and capability

Fitness That Fits Family Life (Even with 14 Kids)

Yes—you read that right.

Steph have 14 kids.

And fitness still fits into their life.

One of Steph’s favorite parts of CrossFit Kenosha?

“They are super kid friendly!”

Because strong parents build strong families—and your health should add to your life, not compete with it.

Steph, You Inspire Us All

Steph’s story is proof that:

  • You don’t need a “perfect” body to start
  • You don’t need zero limitations
  • You don’t need ideal circumstances

You just need the courage to begin—and the consistency to keep showing up.

Steph, we are incredibly proud of you.

Your effort, resilience, and mindset embody exactly what this community stands for.

If you’ve ever thought “This isn’t for me”—Steph’s journey says yes, it is.

Here are Steph’s words on her fitness journey so far at CrossFit Kenosha:

“My husband and I started at CrossFit Kenosha in September. Being older, and never having worked out consistently, I figured this would be a no go for me. Boy was I wrong! We got one on one coaching the first 2 weeks, to learn all the proper forms, and scaling options.

We then started joining classes for actual workouts, and I’m not going to lie, the first few times I was close to throwing up at the end. But now we are a month in, and even though it still feels like we are dying here and there, the benefits make it so worth it.

We both have lost weight and inches, but what is even more exciting, is the mobility and less joint pain.

This is a program we will be able to continue for a long time.

One other huge plus for me, they are super kid friendly!”
